| Chester Higgins, Jr |
| Born in Alabama, Higgins, a staff photographer for the New York Times has been documenting African and African-american images for the past thirty years. He has captured their strength, spirit, and undying passion towards equality during the 1960's. As a college student at Tuskegee Institute, Higgins began to photograph life on campus. While a student, Higgins published his first photographs in The Negro Digest. Recently, Higgins has published a book titlled, Feeling the Spirit: Searching the World for People of Africa.
